The Department of English notched a new high this year when Dr. Mukul Joshi Head, Department of English, presented a paper the International
Conference Kipling: An international writer held at Institute of English
Studies, University of London, London on 21st and 22nd
October 2011.Dr. Joshi presented a paper entitled “Kipling’s writing on India: The Simla Tales”. Her paper focused on
Kipling’s portrayal of encounters between the British officials and Indians in
Simla, the summer capital of the British raj in the pre-independence India.
Dr. Munira Lokhandwala presented a paper at the International Conference "Vanishing Borders in the Age of Globalism: Austral - Asian Perspectives." Held at Osmania University , Hyderabad on 12th to 15th December 2011. Dr. Lokhandwala presented her paper titled "A Pragmatic Analysis of Gregory David Roberts' Shantaram".
